Would you say that Gospel Roads El Salvador will help you to conclude the Lent season with a better foundation to move forward on your journey of fait

I have to say that El Salvador Mission Trip 2011 is where I was able to strengthen my journey of faith. I went to the mission last year with so much baggage, but by the end I realized that God has a great plan for me and that I should allow Him to lead my path, the path that will lead me to the place He has created for me. Going back to El Salvador this year will allow me to give back to the communities what they gave me last year. I know that I am following the path that God is leading me into and I am ready for anything that comes my way. Staying true to myself and talking to Him through prayer.

In your opinion, what would you do differently this Lent as opposed to years before that will help you to live this Lent better?

I think the one thing that I have been doing differently than other years is praying more. In the busy life that I have, I have been able to find time to attend adoration and stations of the cross and in any moment of silence and "loneliness" I have been able to close my eyes and talk to Him. I can honestly say that more than ever I have felt really close to God and I feel my relationship stronger than ever.

Based on your personal experience, why do you think living these 40 days of Lent is important for your spiritual commitment?

If someone would've asked me this exact same question about 9 years ago, my answer would've been "to honor the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert." However, after growing in my faith, and seeing the many things that God does for us, his children, I have to say that it is very important to live these 40 days of Lent for my spiritual commitment because it allows us to grow a much stronger relationship with God, especially during Holy Week as we go through the rituals of the suffering of His Passion.
